Lots of news this week, if you haven't already caught it. Personally, I'm waiting for some creative mind somewhere to link Swine Flu with Chrysler and Fiat. If you find it, let me know.
In the meantime, looks like if Chrysler ever gets off the ground, we might be seeing a few of these in our future:
This is the re-engineered Fiat CinqueCento (that's 500 for you non-Italian speakers) introduced back in '07, here gloriously showcased at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, just before we left Italy. Take a good look...you should expect the American version to be rolling off the assembly lines (barring a complete cataclysm at Chrysler) in about 12-24 months. My personal opinion, after having driven an Alfa Romeo (part of the Fiat brand) for almost 2 years before giving it up for junk: wait a year or two before jumping. Then again, the recent transformation at Fiat has been nothing short of miraculous, so who am I to judge?
